Unveiling Austin’s mini golf oasis

“We’re creating a combination of favorite experiences,” explains Vik. “Who doesn’t like good food? Who doesn’t like good drinks? Who doesn’t like cool games? Those are all things that people love to do inherently so all we’re doing is bringing these things together and having them firing on all cylinders.”

Get into the swing of things at this elaborate indoor mini-golf mecca at The Domain, which has holes inspired by iconic Austin structures such as Circuit of The Americas, the Capitol, and HOPE Outdoor Gallery. Should you and your date work up an appetite during the game, the venue features a full menu by chef Nic Yanes (Juniper, Uncle Nicky’s).

Located in The Domain, The Dirdie Birdie is a woman-led immersive indoor mini-golf restaurant and bar. Co-owner Lina Khasat, Culinary Manager and Chef Allison Hugunin and General Manager Dana O’Donnell work together to ensure that each guest at The Dirdie Birdie has a special experience.

We never thought we’d be playing a full round of 12-hole mini golf inside of a bar at The Domain, but we also never expected Pete Davidson to become America’s heartthrob. There’s solid food from some of the folks behind Juniper (but with more casual things like burgers and blooming onions) that you can get before or after a round, plus a full bar that you can order from during a game. It’s a fun way to spend a Tuesday evening indoors, while also convincing yourself you’re getting some exercise by playing sports.

Born during the pandemic by locals Vik and Lina Khasat, the concept for The Dirdie Birdie was to combine creative entertainment, great food and drinks, and stellar service. Like many at the time, they found themselves missing their favorite date-night spots and began cooking up The Dirdie Birdie.
